Gotama Building Engineers was contracted to provide a number of services to update the facilities at Brotman Medical Center, including the building systems design for renovation and installation of their nuclear gamma camera.
Working closely with the client, new electrical systems were designed in order to support new equipment from Siemens Medical Solutions (for the nuclear gamma camera), and existing utilities were given new outlets from the ground floor of this single-story annex. Integrating the established hospital facilities with the reconfigured area (approx. 1,300 sq. ft.) devoted to this was primarily establishing the electrical power for the equipment so as to be specifically installed by the manufacturer, to ensure correct operation under warranty. As this is a patient procedure within the medical center, plancheck was under review by the Office of State-wide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD), and did not experience any undue delays in moving into construction administration.
