As part of their 10th Anniversary Celebration, GBE has completed a major reconstruction project – and is targeting LEED Gold certification for their new Long Beach, CA location.
Long Beach, CA, March 28, 2008 – Gotama Building Engineers is relocating their business to Long Beach, CA. Having outgrown their Marina del Rey offices, GBE has selected Long Beach as their new home. Providing not only more space for their expanding staff, GBE selected this urban location for its proximity to public transportation, many fantastic restaurants, artistic attractions and other coastal amenities. And in an ongoing commitment to sustainability, GBE is shooting for LEED gold certification. Originally constructed in 1902, GBE’s "new" building has undergone a major re-design, bringing it up to 2008 code. "Green" is GBE’s focus for air quality, energy, water usage, recycling programs and interior furnishings and materials – both for GBE and GBE clients!
There are many types of recycled paper available, both coated and uncoated. Specifying the paper that best suits your needs is up to you and your commercial printer; in the interest of recycling, it is best to use the least amount of basis weight and most economical cut to eliminate waste. Be sure to confer with your printer before ordering, as he may have an innovative solution to make the most of your choice. And don’t forget soy-based inks in your printing and recycling bins in your office – let’s make the use of recycled paper a “closed loop” process!
Says principal Caecilia Gotama, "We’re very excited about our move – and about our new "green" building. We feel strongly about the importance of sustainable design, and wanted to incorporate it into our own offices. We also think the Long Beach area is both convenient to our clients and many Southern California projects."
